Evan Epstein

 

Founder

Evan Epstein is a corporate governance expert that has advised founders, executives, directors and shareholders for over 18 years in Silicon Valley and internationally. Mr. Epstein has also been retained by law firms as a consulting expert and expert witness in corporate governance litigation in U.S. courts.

In 2023, Mr. Epstein was named one of the most influential leaders in corporate governance by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) as part of the 2023 NACD Directorship 100™, an annual list of leading corporate directors and governance advocates. He was included among the top 50 governance professionals “who exemplify the knowledge, leadership, and excellence that our organization promotes.”

In 2020, Mr. Epstein was appointed as the inaugural Executive Director of the Center for Business Law, and Adjunct Professor, at UC Law San Francisco (formerly known as UC Hastings).

He is also the founder and host of the Boardroom Governance Podcast (ranked #1 in its category) and the author of the Boardroom Governance Newsletter (on Substack).

Before founding Pacifica Global in 2017, Mr. Epstein was the Executive Director of the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance, a joint initiative between Stanford Law School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Mr Epstein serves as Co-Chair of the Chile California Council and is board member of the Best Practice Principles (BPP) Oversight Committee (for Shareholder Voting Research) (since 2023).

Evan holds a JD (equivalent) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an LLM (Master of Laws) degree in Corporate Governance and Practice from Stanford Law School. In addition, he was part of the exchange program “Cycle du Diplome” at Sciences-Po in Paris, France.

Evan is a member of the State Bar of California and the Chilean Bar.
